Light, shadow and matter merge in the Overlay project, a collection of mono-material tables with essential lines.
In this composition of primordial, smooth and pure geometric solids, the three-dimensional textures reproduced on marble’s surface are superimposed on its typical, unpredictable tones, creating ever-changing combinations. The collections is a genuine celebration of marble and of Handmade in Italy. The leg of the Overlay tables, identical for all table top sizes, consists of a perfect cylinder which, when sectioned into two parts, reveals a new materiality inside it. Here the more delicate and decorative spirit of the product can be glimpsed: the marble is enriched with the textures and motifs found in Luce di Carrara’s coverings catalogue, ensuring an aesthetic continuity between the product and its surroundings.
