The fluid upper surface, with its refined metallic finish, harmonizes with the solid lacquered base, enhancing the contrast of textures. The top is created by pouring molten glass with a ladle into a steel mold, technically called a 'trap.' The characteristic bubbly decorative effect, known as 'pulegoso,' is achieved by adding sodium bicarbonate to the incandescent glass mass.
