Materials are the core of everything we do. They define our process, shape our objects, and connect us to tradition. Every piece is the result of a continuous exchange—between craftsmen and the studio, past and present, Mexico and the world.
We don’t seek perfection, but character. We value the irregular, the trace of the hand, the textures that reveal process and time. Craft is our way of exploring and refining—a practice of exploration, research and purpose.

David Pompa Spikker founded the studio in 2008 after encountering barro negro and the Family Cruz in Oaxaca—an experience that sparked a deep fascination with Mexican materials and craftsmanship. With a Mexican mother and Austrian father, David grew up immersed in both cultures. He studied product design at Kingston University in London, bringing a global perspective to local traditions.

His vision remains the same: to create lighting objects that stand the test of time, that capture the essence of material, and that bridges cultures through design.
